Hey Arvind,

Glad to see you found my blog! ?

I see your concern and it's 100% true that people prefer to follow accounts with a larger followership. However, they also notice when an account follows 10k+ people and uses fake following to increase their follower number.

I suggest that you boost your following to 2k followers with the help of fake following, then unfollow all those accounts and start to collect followers organically. ?

I read this post at the right time! I just started using Twitter (yeah, I missed the bus a long time ago). I see that you have organically grown your twitter following(as you are just following 226 while you are being followed by 14k!!). I feel tempted to do the same even if it will take a lot of years. But after reading this I wonder if I should give it that initial boost and get the respect of having 1000+ followers! Also is organic twitter engagement dead to the point its not worth trying to build from start? Because so far, it looks like there is:
1. Me
2. Millions of automated twitter accounts
3. Few real twitter folks like you
